Screening of 'Injustice', a multi-award winning and internationally renowned documentary by film-maker Ken Fero. 

'Injustice' is a film about the struggles for justice by the families of those that have died in police custody. 

Why did the police try to censor this film? Why have UK broadcasters such as the BBC and Channel 4, refused to screen it? These questions and more will be answered in what has been described as the most politically controversial film in recent years. 

This film has been screened at the European Parliament, provoking debate, and in the UK the Attorney General was forced to announce a state review into the Crown Prosecution Service. The families of victims of police brutality are using the film as a powerful weapon to demand justice.

After the screening of 'Injustice', Director Ken Fero will be on hand to answer questions from the audience.

Please note this film screening is open to staff, students and members of the public. Entrance is free and will be on a first come first serve basis until the capacity of the lecture theatre is reached.

Hosted by the Department of Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University, in collaboration with the Northern Police Monitoring Project.

Rusholme Film Club

The November showing was the excellent Million Dollar Mermaid and we raised £35 for the Philippines Disaster Fund selling home-made cakes.

The next showing is a winter film to get you in the festive mood. 'Winter in Wartime' set in wartime Netherlands following Michiel, part of the resistance movement aiding a British paratrooper.
Come along on Sunday 15th December, 5.30 doors open for a 6pm start. The film club is free with donations for refreshments.

Rusholme Film Club is the friendly way to watch a film. The monthly club brings together people from across the Manchester galaxy, showing films for free and offering a mug of tea, home-made cakes and of course some pop-corn. Some come and make some new friends, banish the Sunday blues and watch a film.

The film showing is FREE, with refreshments available for a donation.

Opening night....

Thanks for attending the opening night of the new Rusholme Film Club season. The film, ‘Searching for Sugarman’ was excellent, it looked great on the new bigger screen and the soundtrack was perfect for the new sound-system. So if you have been before come along and see and hear for yourself!

Rusholme Film Club is back, the friendly way to watch a film!

For those new to Rusholme Film Club, we show a variety of films using a projector and screen. So the Odeon it isn’t but you can catch with your friends, make some new ones and find out about what else is happening in magical Rusholme and further afield. And of course it is free (thanks to a Manchester City Council Cash Grant) and refreshments are available.

So don’t be shy, Rob welcomes all new members with a brew and a chat!
